Our foster homes get asked all the time, “How do you let them go?”
There are many answers to that question, but one very prominent answer lies in the vision that lives in a rescuer’s mind – the animals waiting in the wings that we were unable to take.
Not only are we working with the animals in our homes, but those left behind fuel our actions and drive us to push the limits of our creativity and problem-solving skills.
We simply can’t settle for excuses. We have to find a way. We often make promises to those still in the shelter that we will be back to get them. We just hope that it is not too late.
You let them go because the ones left behind need you too.
