Without all the volunteers, Shelter to Home would not exist. Volunteers donate their time, talent, and money so that more animals can be saved. Our entire effort, and every single animal saved, comes from volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the application below. We'll contact you within a few days and if your application is approved, schedule you for one of our monthly orientations.
Please note: If you are under 18, this application must be filled out by your parent or guardian. If you are under age 16, your parent or guardian must actively volunteer with you. If you are at least 16 but not yet 18, you can volunteer without your parent or guardian, but they must attend orientation with you and sign a release. Unfortunately we are not able to accept volunteers under age 12.
If you're interested in a group tour or volunteering activity, rather than ongoing volunteering, please fill out our Group Tours Inquiry instead.
By submitting this form, you certify that the information you have provided is true. You also agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shelter to Home, Inc., its volunteers, agents, and Board of Directors, from any and all liability arising out of or in connection with any harm or injury sustained as a result of any activity connected with you or your child(ren) while volunteering for Shelter to Home, which includes volunteering at a Shelter to Home location or any other location.
Shelter to Home has a strict "no drama" policy. We are here for the animals and we do not tolerate behavior that results in unnecessary drama and takes the focus off our mission. Volunteers are expected to treat each other with respect, as well as everyone else they come into contact with through the organization and otherwise. This includes contact in person as well as electronically, such as with social media. If you are a volunteer with Shelter to Home, your behavior reflects on the organization whether it's directly related to your activities with us or not. We reserve the right to terminate the volunteer relationship with any person who, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, does not abide by this policy.
You are also authorizing Shelter to Home to perform a commercial background check on you. We reserve the right to deny your volunteer application for any reason, including for anything we find in the background check, views or opinions inconsistent with our mission, and for any other reason. If we deny your application, we will explain the reason. If you wish to appeal the decision, we will reconsider but our decision on appeal is final.
