This application that will take about 10 minutes to complete.


We take the business of finding our rescued animals good homes very seriously. These questions are not meant to be intrusive and there are no wrong answers. We will use the answers to start a conversation with you to make sure the animal you are interested in would be a good fit for your home.


Please answer all questions to the best of your ability. Once you have submitted the application, the animal's foster parent will be in touch with you. If you have any questions or issues in the meantime, please contact us.

Additional Current or Recent Pets

To adopt:

  • You must be 18 years of age or older.
  • You must have identification showing your present address.
  • You must be able to provide a stable environment for the animal.
  • You must and be willing to spend the financial resources to ensure proper care.

These are just guidelines. We reserve the right to deny any application for adoption on any animal at any time, for any reason.

Please be sure you are ready to care for and love this pet before adoption. Pets need your attention, love, care, and time. Animals suffer from stress, like people, and need adjustment periods.

By submitting this application, you are giving us permission to contact your landlord and veterinarian, if applicable, and are certifying that all the information provided is accurate. This application and any information you provide is the property of Shelter to Home.

We rescue animals from city pounds and shelters and find them new homes. We work primarily in the Downriver, Michigan area. To date, we have rescued over 5,000 animals from local shelters. We do not take in strays or animals from the public.
